Vocals

This course for contemporary singers incorporates weekly vocal technique and performance classes that focus on popular music styles. Our singers are divided into small group classes of similar age, stage and vocal range. Tutors work with each student to help them find and master their sound.

On our Pop Academy students:

• Improve musicality leading to more accurate timing and tuning

• Build stamina

• Increase vocal range and strength throughout 

• Develop understanding of vocal anatomy and how to safely achieve different sound qualities

• Expand repertoire 

• Gain vital performance experience

Our approach is rooted in Estill Voice Training. We engage in a process of continuous assessment with regular performance opportunities. Setting goals and providing constructive feedback in a supportive environment enables students to succeed and realize their potential. 

Guitar

Want to learn how to jam along with your favourite song? Or nail an insane riff? Or maybe you want to be able to write and perform some of your own material? Whatever your aims our tutors will have you hanging up that air guitar and rocking out on a real one in no time!

​

From total beginners to more accomplished players, our guitarists are divided into small focussed groups to ensure they have plenty of individual attention from our tutors. Our simple step by step approach makes progress easy, uncomplicated and very enjoyable.

We strive to instil a solid technical foundation in our guitarists coupled with a strong sense of musicality. Our guitarists learn to read TAB as well as traditional music scores and elements of music theory are ever-present.

Stylistically our guitarists enjoy covering a range of genres and the different challenges each presents.

Students benefit from master classes with industry professionals, have the option to sit graded examinations, our stong links with local promoters allow our students frequent opportunities to gig in various venues through the city including the iconic Glasgow Barrowland and all benefit from participating in our three annual performances.
